Davenham & their brokers rev-up at Goodwood Festival of Speed
Building relationships with our broker network is of utmost importance to us at Davenham, so we invited a number of brokers to enjoy a fast, furious and very sunny day at Goodwood Festival of Speed – a gathering of the planet's rarest and most glamorous cars.
Beginning the day with breakfast and some networking, the scene was well and truly set as a group of petrol-head brokers walked to the entrance gates to be greeted by the smell of burning rubber and clouds of smoke as the cars warmed their tyres before attempting the infamous hill climb - the most iconic aspect of the festival. Putting it into perspective, Formula 1 legend Juan Pablo Montoya described the hill climb as “the narrowest, bumpiest, least grippy course I've ever driven”.
An exhilarating day was enjoyed watching both old and new cars progress up the hill, while some of our guests even managing to walk up it (whilst visiting numerous watering holes and champagne tents along the way!). The afternoon was rounded off with drinks and some spectacular displays from a Range Rover Sport doing multiple doughnuts, to the amazing sight of a Typhoon fighter jet giving a display of what many would imagine is impossible to do in a plane – somewhat making the statement of ‘if you think cars are fun, imagine this’!
As many said their goodbyes, the odd petrol-head among the group couldn’t resist heading back for more, and after such an incredible day with a great group of brokers, we will definitely be heading back once more in 2018.
